COMAC delivers first C909 to Lao Airlines

Chinese aircraft manufacturer COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd) delivered the first C909 (formerly the ARJ21) to Lao Airlines.


The C909 – registered as RDPL-34229 – completed its delivery flight from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Vientiene Wattay Airport on March 31. Leased from COMAC, Lao Airlines' C909 features 90 seats in an all-Economy class configuration.


According to COMAC, the aircraft will enter operations after a series of prepatory work is completed in Laos.


Lao Airlines is the second non-Chinese airline operator of the C909. Indonesia-based TransNusa took delivery of the C909 in 2022.


With the C909, Lao Airlines operates a fleet of 12 aircraft including 4 Airbus A320s and 7 ATR-72-500/-600 aircraft.
